Confidentiality
Joanne Kastern Play Therapy, follows the Code of Ethics held by PTUK (found here) to ensure your information is protected.
All clinical information is kept confidential and is not shared with external parties unless a formal court request is issued. Any information collected will be used solely for monitoring and reviewing purposes as part of the therapist's supervision. No personal details that could identify you or your child are shared or used in any form.
There are times when personal information may need to be shared with external agencies if you or your child are considered to be at risk of serious harm. In such situations, professional advice will be sought, and necessary actions will be taken by these agencies to ensure your child's safety. This also applies if a child discloses that they or another person may be at risk of significant harm. Any safeguarding concerns must be reported to the appropriate authorities as required by law (Children Act 1989). Joanne Kastern will discuss any concerns and actions taken with the parent or carer of the child at risk.
If any illegal activities or acts of terrorism are suspected, this information will be disclosed to the police immediately.

GDPR and Data Protection
At Joanne Kastern Play Therapy Services, your privacy is paramount. All personal information will be securely stored in a protected database, ensuring confidentiality at all times. Only Joanne Kastern has access to these records.
Collected data may be used anonymously to contribute to national statistics, maintaining your privacy. During therapy sessions, brief notes may be recorded to ensure consistent and effective therapeutic work. Information recorded does not reveal nay personal sensitive data or information about your child so they can be recognised by anybody else. Personal information will never be shared with third parties without your explicit consent and only for medical or legal purposes.

Complaints
At Joanne Kastern Play Therapy, we aim to provide the highest
standard of service. If you are unhappy with any
aspect of the services provided, please address your concerns directly with the practitioner in the first
instance.
